Latest News Update: Time is running out for Haitians still buried alive in the ruins of their capital, but President Obama urged increasingly desperate quake survivors not to lose hope.
“At this very moment, one of the largest relief efforts in our recent history is moving towards Haiti,” the President assured them yesterday.
“After suffering so much for so long, to face this new horror must cause some to look up and ask, have we somehow been forsaken?
“To the people of Haiti, we say clearly and with conviction: You will not be forsaken, you will not be forgotten. In this, your hour of greatest need, America stands with you.”
There was no shortage of incoming aid, but relief workers were stymied by endless snarls and bottlenecks trying to get help to those who need it.
